National Philanthropy Day 2011

25th Annual Celebration
12pm Wednesday, November 2
Calvin College's Prince Conference Center
Grand Rapids, MI

At some point in our lives, we ask ourselves the question, "What could I do to change the world?" As a nonprofit leader, staff member, volunteer, entrepreneur or simply a concerned citizen, we are all M.A.D. (Making A Difference) on some level. But we often become overwhelmed and lose sight of our purpose as our passion wanes.

The 2011 National Philanthropy Day celebration will begin at noon with the 25th Annual Awards Luncheon where notable recipients will be honored for their vital contributions to the West Michigan community.

Acclaimed researcher, author and presenter, Lisa M. Dietlin will be our featured speaker. In her keynote address, Lisa will share the experiences, challenges and creative process which led to writing Making A Difference: 365 Tips, Ideas and Stories to Change Your World. She will inspire you to explore new opportunities and reignite your passion to make a difference!

Following the luncheon and a short break, Lisa will host an impactful and practical seminar, Attracting Entrepreneurs as an Investor, Donor & True Philanthropist, for development professionals, board members and volunteers. Discussing her first book, Transformational Philanthropy: Entrepreneurs and Nonprofits, Ms. Dietlin will share her experiences and insight into the decision making patterns, expectations and philanthropic behaviors of entrepreneurs. She will stress the importance of developing creative and evolving strategies in approaching entrepreneurs for donations and contributions. She will highlight real world examples, industry statistics, case studies, interviews and important "how-to" tips.
