Personal Quote:
"It is hard to list all of the many topics that were covered in the session I attended, but I came away with a much better understanding of the whole process of generating revenue for my agency.
Probably most helpful was the time spent on how to structure my annual plan and the techniques that work best to break down and accomplish my goals from a financial, time-management and human resources perspective. It gave me a whole new sense of how I need to plan for my 2005-06 budget.
There were also excellent problem solving and interactive strategy sessions that helped us to identify and correct problems that occur in all agencies relating to the fundraising process. The class was 35 people with a whole spectrum of experiences that were freely shared with all. As a result there were many opportunities to both network and gain valuable insight from all who attended.
I can't begin to thank AFP of West Michigan for providing me with this amazing opportunity to learn and become more professional in my job and to help reduce the financial cost to my agency.
Thanks to the Board for helping me to experience this excellent learning experience."

Annually, AFP sends a chapter-nominated Chamberlain Scholar to the AFP International Conference. The nominee must be a fundraiser who has never attended an AFP or NSFRE conference. The scholar pays $10 toward the event and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy pays the $500 scholarship directly to the conference registration account. See below for additional scholarship funds available through AFP-West Michigan to help with travel, food and lodging expenses.
Sponsored by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, the Chamberlain Scholarship honors the memory of Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE, a founding member of the Greater New York Chapter and a longtime supporter of the Foundation.
